Google Docs: Add Your Signature

Need to add your signature to an electronic document? Look no further than Google Docs! 1. Open your Google Doc and click the cursor where you want to insert your signature. 2. Click the 'Insert' menu, hover over 'Drawing' and select 'New'. 3. Click the line drawing tool and select 'Scribble'. 4. Sign your name using your finger or stylus and then click 'Save and Close'. 5. Click on your signature to select it and then click and drag from a corner to resize. 6. That's it! You've just added your signature to the document electronically!

GMail: Get Rid of the Lines in Long Threads

Have you ever been involved in a long GMail thread with a gazillion lines running down the left side? The reason for this is, by default, people's signature line gets placed at the very bottom of the thread and the lines connect each message to the signature that goes with it. Here's an example of how it can look: If you're Bridget Riley and lines are kind of your thing, this is not the tech tip for you. But, if you'd rather they disappear into the horizon...follow these steps. 1. In GMail , click the gear icon to open the settings menu 2. Select 'Settings' 3. Scroll down to the 'Signature' section and check the box that says 'Insert this signature before quoted text in replies and remove the "--"line that precedes it." 4. That's it! Your emails will look just a little cleaner!

Google Forms: Email Notifications

Are you trying out digital behavior charts? Maybe you're ordering a set of T-shirts for a club you're sponsoring? Stay on top of responses immediately by turning on email notifications in Google Forms ! You may not want this feature for every form you send, but for those that require your attention right away, this is an excellent way to go! 1. Go to forms.google.com and create your form. 2. After the form is created, click the 'Responses' tab. 3. Click the 'Three-dot' or 'Caterpillar' menu. 4. Select 'Get email notifications for new responses'. 5. That's it! Sit back, relax and listen to your computer sing as the notifications drop into your inbox!
